Projects: See How Your Donations Spark Innovation

Ever wonder how the materials you donate find new life in the hands of young creators? At updatED Design, we’re dedicated to fostering an authentic maker culture that encourages students to build, innovate, and problem-solve. Your contributions help bring their ideas to life.

In our prototype labs, students have access to donated materials, tools, and inspiration walls that ignite their creativity and empower them to create solutions to real-world problems. From designing sustainable products to engineering models and inventions, your donations are at the heart of countless imaginative projects.

Every item you donate becomes an opportunity for students to test, experiment, and grow as innovators. Thank you for being part of their journey in shaping tomorrow’s creators and problem-solvers!

Identity Day

Kindergarten students created a working version of the game "Operation," where each body system represented something about them. As visitors chose a body part, it lit up an area of the board, and students shared what they learned about the body system and what it represented about them.

Identity Day

Primary students created their own superhero boxes with their individual "superpowers," what makes them unique, and a care guide.

Storyline

Primary students created canopy layers as the culmination of the Sharing the Planet Inquiry block. Each layer represented part of their learning journey throughout the year.

Popup Shop

Students created customized watercolor flowers and blank cards. Visitors could create a bouquet and create a custom card with messaging stamped by students running the popup shop.

Maker space

Students create in our maker space/prototype lab daily, to help them tell stories, illustrate inquiry concepts, and as a creative act.

World Architecture

Intermediate students studied world architecture and created a model of one of the buildings chosen.
